What I wore this winter

What I wore this winter

The weather In Northern Italy was incredibly mild this winter.  We had quite a lot of rain in the autumn, but after that we had no frost or snowy weather.  I am not sure I wore gloves at all!!!

Due to the lack in weather fluctuations, I think that my winter clothing choices were pretty boring. I pretty much wore the same formula of clothing all winter long. Also, remember I wear what I like, not what some might deem fashionable!!!!
Once again I am inundating you with a whole bunch more poor quality mirror selfies!!!

This first group of pictures represents my travel collection…I love the “Globe Trotter” sweater, but it was so very cheap that it ripped and unraveled beyond repair, so I had to get rid of it….also had a moment of stupidity and had those bangs cut…why????? Middle picture was taken in an elevator in Strasbourg Austria, the one time I felt true winter weather this year….hence the North Face Jacket and hat and scarf and I always use a cross body bag when traveling, in this case it is a leather greige colored Miu-Miu bag that I love. The final picture was taken in Dublin….the Prada bag was a little treat I bought for myself for a steal at the outlets!

Picture one: is a really awful picture my son took while we were in Venice for the day. I thought I looked good that day , but the camera says otherwise! However, I do love my camel coat/Jacket…it is a classic! Picture 2 & 3 are me in my typical uniform…Jeans and blouse/sweater.

Three “regular day” outfits….warm and comfortable and made for zipping around… I still love a bootcut jean and a sleeveless puffer jacket…..are they completely out of fashion am I a walking fashion faux pas?!?!?!?

This is the dressed up version of me….and looking at these pictures I realize I have some work to do. One thing I really tried to find this winter was a “winter day dress” but I never could really find one…Dresses are a hard fit for me because I am bigger around my middle section. I do like my black wool coat though…I think it looks very tailored and dressed up.

Back in my uniform. Looking at these pictures makes me want to give away the grey GAP sweater, I have had it for years. The middle sweater is an angora blend so tends to get fluffies into my mouth and eyes when I wear it, but looking at it now I still like the style of it. The third sweater is an old faithful cheapy from H&M. The bag I was using at this time was a beautiful navy leather Longchamp….one of my favs! I seem to be choosing ankle boots rather than knee high boots this season….is it because they are no longer fashionable or is it because it was never really cold to get the full benefit of a warm boot…????

The grey jacket is old….J Crew, and the Gucci bag was a Christmas gift from my husband. The middle picture is me going out-out! I was wearing my pleather pants from Zara with ankle boots. I have now worn them once in 3 years, so cost per wear we are at a $19.99….I am not sure if I will wear them again…aye-aye-yaye!!!!

This is my dog Darby…..she is my buddy! These two pictures are a typical day for me….skinny jeans, ankle boots and a cheap sweater from H&M. I love their sweaters because they are so easy to wear and wash and they sell them off for practically nothing at the end of season sale, making my commitment to them not so strong. I also like to pair them with my most expensive bag, the Givenchy Antigona, because I am extra like that!

I am really comfortable in a casual but dressy blouse paired with jeans and boots. I feel like I can go to most places in an outfit likwe this one. The brown cardigan is something I bought off the street in Korea and I am not sure that I like it anymore…..I only wore it once this winter. I wore my rain boots lots this fall and winter…..it rained quite a bit. I normally do not like flannel shirts on myself, I think they can look a little masculine on a big girl like me, but I really like this one and it was so cheap from Primark.

So there you have it……a quick look at what I wore this winter. I really like doing this as I get to have a second look at outfits I chose and I can remember how the clothes made me feel. sometimes looking back on the outfits makes me wonder what the heck I was thinking! Spring and summer brings with it a lot more color and a lot more dresses and skirts, so bring on the good weather.

Ciao

Take care and thanks for reading- Criona
