Hello Spring….

My husband and I have come to some agreement after all these years of living in different countries and climates, and it is this……we actually require a change of seasons.  The time is looming forth for us to choose a permanent place to settle (GASP!!!) and I just know that I must live in an area that has four distinct seasons.  My soul requires the change.  I love looking forward to the next season.

Seriously, How great is it now that spring is springing????? Unless I am at a beach house, I just do not enjoy the summer so much…….it is hard to go about my daily life while I am internally roasting to death.  I do not enjoy when it is too hot to go out and enjoy the outdoors, to blowdry my hair or wear makeup! But I really do love the spring…..I love the buds and the promise of things to grow.  The sudden burst of colour is so welcome after all the gloom and grey of winter.  I love planting and setting up my garden.

It seems that in the last few weeks every tree in Seoul has bloomed and they are remarkable.  I keep taking pictures of them….how can I not???  They are simply glorious.

Then there is all the delicious time to be spent simply sitting and taking in the sun’s warmth, which my body has been craving all winter. I could sit outside for hours……..on my front porch or my back porch, I am not fussy; iced tea or iced coffee, nope, not fussy about that either! I just serve it in a mason jar and pretend I live in some gorgeous Instagram world!

Then there is the inevitable grooming that comes with warmer weather.  This can be both daunting and relaxing at the same time.  For some it may have been a  while since our last (ahhhemm)wax/shave….hey, no one here is judging. I especially love a great pedicure and the first one of the season is always the best….real value for money so to speak!!!

While I am not look forward to the petrifying removal of all the layers of winter that have protected me for the last few months. I am going to get over it.  I may not be delighted with how I look right now….getting older ain’t easy baby, I have no choice but to get over it and get on with it! I refuse to let life pass me by because I am too self-conscious. I am going to have a fantastic spring and I really hope you do too.
